It's getting rather exciting around here! Since this community started, more and more people have become interested in it's novel idea and have been asking me more and more what this site is about. We were recently featured in an article in Accent Montreal, a Romanian community newspaper and you can read about it at their website in Romanian - www.AccentMontreal.com - or the english translation at www.facebook.com/pages/solutionssurfercom/148039236969 .

 So I thought I'd write a little and describe it's intentions and dispell any mis-conceptions.

So what is this site about? It was created to provide a supportive online community for university students and to built to include all the tools necessary to successfully study online.

It's been brought to my attention that the site has many aspects of a popular social networking site called ... eh-hem ... Facebook. So I thought I'd write a little about what exactly is social networking and clearup any misconceptions on what this site is trying to achieve and in addition, that we are not in competition or trying to "steal" users from Facebook or any other social networking site.

Explore social networking aspects, it's definition, uses and implementation on this site. State that goals of this site are not to be another facebook, but to solve a common problem in education - whether for online distance learners or for students on campus at a college/university.

I've been asked alot why social networking is so beneficial for students for studying. In this article, I'll explore the variosu aspects of how a person learns and how social itneractions help with learning, and in addition, the aspects of social networking websites that can aid in this.
